Property across from Madison Park Church of God, the center of heated discussion concerning rezoning in the past, is on the verge of being developed. The Anderson Plan Commission will consider Tuesday a request from 18th Street Development LLC and P.A.C. Development for a primary plat for Sugar Fork Commons. The property is located in the 1700 block of East 67th Street and on the east side of Columbus Avenue and contains approximately 68 acres. The request is to divide the property into three lots. The biggest of the three lots will contain 55 acres with lots of 9.5 and 2 acres. The property is zoned for business. The intent is to construct a 97-unit senior housing project that will include assisted living and memory care facility on the 9.5-acre track along 67th Street. According to documents filed with the Anderson Municipal Development Department, the senior housing project is an investment of $8 million and will consist of a 62,000-square-foot one-story building.
