Six-Story Senior Housing Community Proposed for Knowles Avenue in Kensington

A plan is in the works to build a 123-unit senior living community along Knowles Avenue in Kensington, replacing a couple of single-family homes. The applicant, Kensington Manor Senior Housing, has turned in an initial project application to the Montgomery County planning department for the six-story complex and hopes to have the community open by 2020. The plans call for a mixture of one- and two-bedroom units in the roughly 115,000-square-foot building that would be laid out in the shape of a “U” around a courtyard.
